  1. My husband and I love classic Greek literature, so we chose strong historical name that had a lot of character and a cute nickname (Leo)!

  2. Lol both of us are the big fan of Resident Evil and yeah Leon S. Kennedy is our favorite character!
We named our son Leonidas and call him Leon as his nickname, We Love Lions too!

  3. Husband is a history buff so Leonidas is named after the spartan king. I think its cool that it means lion king-and thought for sure I’d only call him Leo, but his full name is growing on me! People often comment that it’s a strong name (especially with Cassius as a Middle name).

  4. Leonidas represents a bold, lion-like bravery. It was unique with a strong meaning.

  5. At first my furnace said Leonidas jokingly, and in a few months time, the name grew on me. But we had also wanted to incorporate one of our zodiac signs into our kid’s names. I am an aries. My fiance is a leo. And let me tell you, it is a lot easier to incorporate Leo into a name than it is aries. (Leo, Leon, Leoni, Leonidas, Leonora).

  6. I knew I wanted something unique, strong, meaningful, and from Greek origin. Leonidas is all of those. When I heard it at first, it didn’t sound like something I’d name my first son. But with more time to think about it, I realized it was the one. In one of my baby nick names list, I wanted to call him “little Leo.” And this fits perfectly.

  7. Leonidas was inspired by the movie 300. My husband wanted our son to have a very powerful name, so this what we chose.
