  1. Tighe is an Irish name that I adored while living in Ireland for several years. Pronounced Ti + hard G sound. It’s Irish Gaelic for Timothy and also means “handsome”. I love unique names and wanted a unique, handsome, and sporty name for our son that no one else around us here in the United States would have so we named him Tighe Everett Murray. Tighe in Ireland is a classic and timeless name. I loved giving him an Irish name as my years in Ireland were some of the best years of my life.

    • I named my 3rd child Tighe after a priest in our diocese, Msgr Arthur Tighe. While I was pregnant we had nicknamed him Tiger so we (I) made it official with Tighe. We don’t pronounce the hard g sound, except when they announced his name at college graduation, they said it with the hard g. Tighe Peterson Bardwell.
