Share Your Thoughts 3 Comments Sam May 30 at 5:59 pm If you’re on the fence between Wilder and Wylder… Spell it with a “Y”. I spelled my son’s name with an “I” and anyone reading it pronounced it Wil-der. ? Reply Joe Nov 5 at 7:43 pm Our son is Wylder with the y, and people still pronounce it Will-der. That being said, I’ve been called much worse than a mispronounced name, and I’m still here haha Reply Danielle Oct 16 at 11:10 pm I actually asked for my baby’s name to come to me in a dream, as silly as that sounds, and that’s the name I got. I was about 7 months pregnant with my son and hadn’t found a name yet, but I had a friend who said she’d dreamed her daughter’s name (Rayne). So I asked my subconcious, the spirits, whatever you want to call it, to show me the name of my son. I got a name written on paper in front of me in my dream, and I woke up that morning knowing what I would name my son. His father felt that “Wilder” was not right, as the internet said it means “bewildered; to lose one”s way” so we changed the ‘i’ to a ‘y’. According to one site we found, Wylder means “wild animal or hunter” and since we’ve always loved nature, it was perfect!
