  1. We chose Freyja Joy because of her being our warrior princess only girl after having 5 warrior princes. Our familys grand finale! My partner and I’s ancestry may have also played a part in her name choice. A month before we got pregnant with our Freyja I found a lightning stone in South Haven, MI that reads ‘Joy’. That’s how she got her middle name! Then come to find out it’s also my partners mother’s middle name!! Meant to be baby.

  2. My husband, Skyler, introduced the name to me because of its Scandinavian roots (he’s Scandinavian). I thought it was really pretty! I like the older spelling with a “J” and I think it suits our little peanut perfectly. She’s going to be a strong girl with a strong name!

  3. A fine fitting name for a young girl and later a strong independent woman.
My family and I are Swedish and find beauty in the spelling of the name, from the Goddess Freyja, also known as Freja, Fr?ja, Fr?ya.
It seems it is sadly currently popularized in western cultures since the television series ‘Vikings’ were released, this has lead to a surged increased in the name being used…

  4. Freyja because is iceland name and the meaning of Freyja i love it

  5. We chose Freyja because we both have Norse ancestry and felt it was a sweet name that’s not too common.

  6. I chose her name because I love mythology and her name comes from the Nurse goddess. Her first name means beauty, fertility and war. Her middle name is Eirene which comes from the Greek goddess. Her middle name means peace and the season of spring. Two very strong and beautiful names.

  7. It’s the name we picked before we even started our (long) journey to parenthood. We’re drawn to traditional Scandinavian names that aren’t especially popular.
