  1. All your info is useful

  2. We wanted a strong male name for our son. Our daughter’s name is Azalea and we thought Adonis and Azalea both were uncommon names that would stand out on resumes and other documents where our children’s names would be memorable.

Adonis has a place in Greek mythology and has a reputation to mean handsome. I interpreted some aspects of the story a little differently, especially the love of a daughter for her father, which was how Adonis was created.

Adonis also has a place in popculture. Apollo Creed (boxer in Rocky series) named his son Adonis Creed, later adapted into their own movie Creed, where Adonis character was played by Michael B Jordan.

  3. We chose the name because we love names with meanings. Adonis is also not a common name and we love that. We do get a few funny looks when we tell others his name.

  4. My best blessing since my 1st (son) child in 2010. Adonis will be beautiful in so many ways!
