  1. I love the name as it’s not only a classic name, but also has many correlations for me and my family

  2. Louis me parece un nombre afeminado para un ni?o o para un hombre.
Que se podr?a esperar de los franceses?

  3. I wanted Ambrose as his 1st name, but it’s his second name because my husband looked up the personality traits of an Ambrose, and headstrong was one of the more prominent features, and he was like, no way, we already have 4 headstrong kids, we don’t need anymore! Hahaha. So we are acquainted with several men named Louis and they are all good and true men amd we hope that for our little one! ? ?

  4. Both my husband and my family are french, it was really important for us that our kid’s names represent that well at the same time being a name that English speakers can speak, well being french enough. My name is “Anne” with an E, so I also wanted something that he would not have to correct people on the spelling all his life. It came down to two names, Antoine or Louis, we knew that we would use the second pick for a middle name, so it was just the thought of “which do you like better?” We both slept on it and in the morning we said which one we liked better at the same time. And we both liked Louis better. We also thought it paired nicely with Gabriel, my other son. I’m happy to report that Louis Antoine Laurent is a happy and healthy bilingual 4-year old who spends his summers in France with his cousins. (sorry for the bad grammar on spelling misspeaks English is not my first language.)

  5. We are both french, and we wanted to have a name that works both in english and in french.

  6. Louis, for our baby boy, is a version of his grandmother’s name Louise. It means “famous warrior.” We spell it in the old fashioned way so, it’s pronounced Lou-ee!
We were very undecided on a name even after his birth, but I found myself calling him that –although we really couldn’t firmly decide! We formally filed his first name as Michael (his father’s first name) and Louis as his middle name. We figure that he can be known by his middle name and use his father’s name as a placeholder for now. We hold open the possibility that we or Louis may decide on something else in the future!

    • I just wanted to let you guys know that I am Louis also . Thanks

  7. Paternal grandfather

    • My name is also and it’s no lie Louis D. Williams III
