Share Your Thoughts 2 Comments Brittny Feb 7 at 11:57 am My grandmother spoke about a friend growing up whose named Novi (nov-eye). The name always stuck out to me. After suggesting it, my husband and I said at the same time “Nova!” We didn’t yet know the gender of our lil one. Although it’s kind of on the nose, Nova is Latin for “new” and we loved that. My only dislike about choosing Nova for a boy is that the name is in the same category as gender neutral names such as Jamie. Everyone knows they can go either way, but everyone will assume it’s the feminine. Reply ilovemymomi! Dec 25 at 1:01 pm Nova doesn’t look neutral, but it sounds neutral because of the Nov-. It is a neutral name, actually. Reply Share your thoughts on the name Nova Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.
