  1. We choose Pierce off a random name list we found. We wanted a name that was obviously a name but not anywhere near even the top 300 names. We love that its easy to pronounce, spell and he won’t be one of 5 Pierces in his grade.

  2. We named our baby based on what we heard from the Lord. Pierce means “rock” and we believe he will be a man of strength, intelligence and creativity on which God can build beautiful things!

  3. I chose Pierce because it’s a family name and I also like the sound of it. Pierce was my husbands great grandfathers name. I like that it is unique while also having that old timey feel to it. I don’t really like that it’s first three letters are PIE and hope that that doesn’t become a nick name for him later in life ? I really like that it means “rock”

  4. We named our second son, “Pierce Graham.” This name was given to me by God after experiencing 4 years of secondary infertility. When I looked up the names separately, Pierce biblically means “rock” and Graham means “grain.” So …Of Rock and Grain… my interpretation of that is being God’s rock and harvest! What a beautiful name to give to a child of God!

  5. I wanted a unique but not too odd name. I scrolled through a list of thousands of boy names and Pierce was the only one that stood out to me. I think it’s a great name for a man but it is a little harsh for a baby so we have lots of nicknames.

  6. My husband and his father are firefighters. We named my son after Pierce fire trucks. I wanted name that couldn’t be shortened into a nickname. The only other Pierce I knew was 007.
