  1. I think it is a strong masculine names. It also has some vintage charm as well as potential for cute nicknames.

  2. Anagram of Ronald, his grandfather name. We also liked the meaning and characters named Roland

  3. I chose the name with my husband because of the sound and meaning.
    Our baby has very manly looks and we can tell he looks like his father. After seeing him I wanted to give him a strong manly rugged name.
    Roland had that sound to me and reminded me of old cowboy movies and sounded masculine without sounding like an old man’s name.

    Roland is also the name of the main character of Stephen King’s Gun slinger saga.
