  1. We have 4 boys! The oldest 3 are named after (middle names) grandpas and uncles. Ruben is our 4th and last baby, my Mom’s name is Ruby, so since we had no girls that we could name after her we chose to name our last son Ruben.

  2. We love this name as it references the biblical Reuben who stood up to his brothers when they sold Joseph into slavery, and we like the way it sounds. The spelling Ruben is apparently more common today so we chose that, also so he wouldn’t share his spelling with a sandwich. But admittedly he will need to correct people as they misspell his name by adding an e.

  3. He’s named after both my maternal grandfather and my paternal great great grandfather – both who had the hebrew name Ruvain
