  2. My thought is, I want to know what other name can be used in African name for the name Andrea

  3. Andrea (On-dre-ah) was named after my grandfather, with the same name. It’s a traditionally masculine Italian name, but we loved it for a girl. We call her Andie for short ?

    • Yes. I’m actually an Andrea.

  4. Also this name mean “butterfly “

  5. Andrea means brave and/or strong, as it comes from the root andro. It is not an original name, but not super common either. We are calling our daughter Andie. We have a fondness for male-sounding nicknames for girls, like “Jo” for Joanna. If we were having a boy, the plan was to go with Andrew/Andy, so either way we liked the name. I like that Andrea sounds mature, but we have the option of a playful Andie.

Be aware, people are going to pronounce Andrea differently, so you have to be prepared for that. An-dray-uh versus An-dree-uh.

  6. Greek: Strong and brave; feminine form of Andrew

    Andrea
The most beautiful girl a person can meet. She is the definition of perfect, if you are only near her you are the luckest person in the world. You can only dream to be alone with her for she is just stunning. She may not see herself as perfect but she is pure, grand, and breath taking.

    Nicknames: Drea, Dre, Andi, Ana

    • How lovely! Mission complete! Encounter an Andrea!

  7. o Andrea is names after her dad & myself, her dad’s name is Andrew & my name is Le’Andrea

o What I dislike about the name Andrea is that it’s hard to come up with a nickname

    • Maybe Andie or Andy? That’s what they call me sometimes.
