  1. My mother was adopted from Sweden her name was Britta. She lived a hard life and died very young, however I’ve decided I’m going to name my daughter after her and knowing it has such a cool heritage makes me even more proud of my choice.

  2. My daughter’s name is Britta Louise (“Britta Lou“). My grandma Louise was Swedish and also the kindest, lost loving woman, loved by all. Britta is also a Swedish name. I love my Scandinavian heritage and hope to instill that love in Britta and that she grows to be a loving bright spot in the world like my grandma Lou!

I like shorter names and I like that my daughter has a B name like I do.

  3. My husband’s and my ancestors are all from Norway, so we wanted to use Scandinavian names. So many names from this part of the world are harsh (Olga, Goode, etc), but I love how crisp and feminine Britta sounds <3 Classic yet not overused…

  4. I chose this name because it wasn’t very well known. Also it was a name of a relative back in our family and I thought that it was beautiful.
