She’s a preemie, and I knew right away she loved music and arts. I didn’t have a name for her when she was born but it didn’t take long for her spirit and personality to shine through in that NICU. She was meant to be a Calliope. My husband and I call her Calliope but most people call her Calli. She wears the name very well. Reply Calliope Dec 27 at 9:54 am My name is actually Calliope. My dad was planning on naming me either, Zozo, Loulou, or Zelda. But my mom, fortunately, declined all of those. Reply Maren Oct 28 at 5:56 am I thought it was pretty & I like that it is not a common name. Reply Ces Aug 18 at 2:30 am We are a family of “C” names: I’m Cecilia, my husband is Christopher, and our son is Calloway. After confirming that I was pregnant with a girl, I asked people for recommendations of girl. “C” names. A co-worker sent me A text suggesting “Calliope” from a character on Grey’s Anatomy ( which I’ve heard of but never watched) who’s called “Callie” on the show but her character’s full name is Calliope. I thought it looked close to the name “Penelope” and immediately liked it. The only problem was I/we didn’t know how to pronounce it ( we were pronouncing it ‘Kali-ope’) thanks to google, we got it right;) ( pronounced Kah-ly-oh-pee). It’ll be a fun story to share with her when she’s older:) Reply Share your thoughts on the name Calliope Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.
