  1. We wanted a unique name for our baby girl, but when my husband discovered the Gaelic name Clodagh I was very skeptical at first. Even though I loved the sound of it, the spelling and silent G really had me worried. But something about it just stuck and we always came back to it. I’m so happy we chose it and love the uniqueness of it. Even though we sometimes get strange looks or butchered pronunciations we really love her name, and hope she will too.

  2. Clodagh is an Irish name, coming from the Irish river Clody. My husband and I love Gaelic names and chose to name our daughter Clodagh to pay tribute to my Irish heritage but also because we wanted a unique name. We both have loved the name Clodagh ever since we first heard it. Our only apprehension was around the spelling and the silent G. We worry that people will always mispronounce it. Our daughter is only 7 months old and people do butcher her name when they first see it, but we also get lots of compliments and are very happy with our choice.
