Share Your Thoughts 3 Comments Juliana Mar 12 at 11:40 pm My family is Dutch, so I knew when I was 13 what I wanted to name my chil, boy or girl. I ended up with a daughter 5 years ago today and did name her Holland. We call her holli for short. I LOVE it Reply Joy Jan 30 at 1:09 pm We fell in love with the name when we heard it. We liked that it was unique (we didn’t personally know anyone with the name), but it wasn’t so strange that people would have trouble saying or spelling it. The only small challenge has been that it can easily be misheard for the boys’ name Colin. However we think this might be because it can be harder to hear people enunciate well while wearing face masks. Reply Hala Oct 27 at 12:21 pm We chose the name Holland because of the nickname Holly. My moms name is Holly and I loved that my daughter could have her own unique name while also being named after my mom.
