  1. We just knew it when we saw her ?

  2. I loved how unique this name was without it being too out there. It means Warrior and her middle name (Elizabeth) means Consecrated to God. So far everyone else has loved it too!

  3. We heard the name and felt drawn to it while I was pregnant. It means female warrior. Our little one ended up being born deaf, and a female warrior is perfection for a description of our sweet Sloane!

  4. Unique, goes well with our last name. She also sent us signs, we kept seeing the name everywhere about 4 months before we conceived!

  5. She is sweet, and cuddly

  6. When I first heard that name SIoanne I was watching this kids movie with my step daughter n I was pregnant with my other daughter at that time . I said if I have another daughter I’m name her that, lol n I did I spell hers SI’OANE and it fit my bossy juicy baby perfectly I love it

  7. My husband and I agreed on the name about when we started trying to conceive–2.5 years before Sloane was born. It came up randomly in conversation as we were talking about getting pregnant and we both immediately agreed on it. I have to admit the first time I heard it was Ferris Bueller’s Day Off–Ferris’ girlfriend. She was sassy and cool and a bit of a badass. I’m hoping my daughter can be much of the same. She’s already got the sassy part down 🙂

  8. Wanted a name that we thought would sound good when she was an adult not just a child

  9. Our Middle is named Sloane after Ferris Bueller’s girlfirend Sloane Peterson. I always thought it was such a “cool girl” name, and my Sloane has indeed grown into a cool little girl. Our only problem was introducing her to a few of the older ladies at my grandmother’s rural church. “So you named her Slow-Anne?”

    • Our daughter is named Sloane also. But it’s more a ancestral name for us. Also every Sloane I’d ever met was pretty cool like you said. But yes, any time it’s a lady from
The south reading here name they pronounce it “Slow Ann“. So that’s how her sisters tease her. Plus Sloane street in London is pretty posh too.

  10. We did not find out the gender of the baby so we were coming up with options for both. I really had no idea what was in there but around month 6 or 7 of pregnancy, I had a dream that it was a girl and her name was Sloane. I mentioned it to my partner and we looked up the meaning. It’s means young raider or warrior; he loves it so we decided it would be Sloane either way-boy or girl! Once she was born we still agreed but the hard part was deciding on how to spell it! With it with out an e! In the end we made a game time birth certificate decision and went with the E! And it fits her perfectly!

  11. Sloane was my great-great grandmother’s maiden name. Strong name from a strong woman for a little girl who is already a force of nature.
