  1. I chose the name because I love the image it conjure up- a beautiful, peaceful, sun shining, wind blowing field of colorful wildflowers. It makes me feel happy, grounded, and full of joy, just like I know my baby girl will be.

  2. My name is Rose and I wanted something floral earthly natural.

  3. The most beautiful name I have come across. I searched and searched before I even conceived her. She had her name before I got pregnant with her and I knew from the moment I got pregnant that I was having a girl. She’s the most beautiful girl with a character matching her name. She’s 5 now and Iv never met another Meadow. If I plan to have one more and I already know his/or name will be Willow.

    • My daughters name is Meadow and have also planned to name my next girl Willow ?? Great choice of names ??

  4. My grandmother is Ivy, she flew out to be support for the birth, my name is Willow, and Meadow just fit. Especially as the 5th generation of women in my family. Plus, it’s the inly name her dad and I could agree on ???

  5. My husband suggested it – a beautiful, calm place, field of flowers. I absolutely loved it immediately and that was it – decided the week after the scan and we never once considered changing it as couldn’t think of anything else we liked. I also liked it from The Sopranos – she was a great character and a good role model. Our Meadow is 6 now and an absolute firecracker – not a lot peaceful about her, but she is a lovely girly, hippy, beautiful energetic soul and we adore the name still. Her older brother is Will and we wanted something more unique. When we told my mother she said ‘don’t be ridiculous, what’s her real name’ which was hilarious.

  6. The story of her name really starts with her brother’s name, Wesley. Wesley means Meadow, and I always .liked the idea of names that mean the name thing. My Sisters name is Lily, and Alice means Lily also. So there we were going through names that mean meadow when my husband turns to me and says, “What about Meadow?” And I really liked it. Meadow and Wesley.

  7. Makes me think of a field full of flowers this time of year and it goes with the names of her older brother and sister. I also like that it is unique.

  8. We originally choose Hope but was sat watching TV on night and heard the name Meadow and I thought that’s absolutely beautiful and so unique and it stuck.. She’s Meadow Hope now.. Its such a beautiful natural name it took family and friends a while to get use to but once you meet her you can tell she’s a beautiful Meadow

    • I feel like the name Meadow fits my daughter so perfectly, I can’t imagine her having any other name now, so I 100% understand what you’re saying.
Do you happen to remember what program you heard the name on? I’m just curious because my daughter, Meadow’s (9/2006) name came from the HBO series, the Sopranos. On her 15 years of life, we’ve only met 2 other young ladies with the name Meadow. One, we happened to be in line behind when waiting for a bus outside of Disney’s Magic Kingdom. The other is actually the daughter of my son’s step-mother’s cousin. My son and his dad’s family visited them in Texas (we’re in Michigan) shortly after my Meadow was born while they were thinking of baby names, my son talked about his baby sister a lot and they loved the name. So she was kind-of named after my Meadow thinking the two likely wouldn’t ever cross paths. A series of events lead them to move to our same small town a few years later.

      • My daughter Meadow is 21 born on the 4th of July. We too love The Soprano’s which is where we got the idea for the name. We have never met another Meadow. We could not have picked a more perfect name. Our Meadow is a senior in college she will graduate with a BS in Environmental Horticulture and a double minor in entomology and viticulture. She is a lover of all things nature. My oldest daughter just had my third grandchild a granddaughter her name is Ivy Meadow which we absolutely love the name.

  9. My boys have uncommon names and I wanted something uncommon but related to nature for my girl.

Meadow came up numerous times – so that’s what I chose.
