  1. We loved the name Rosalie because I love pretty, flowy names and it matches our nature name theme we have for our other kids, and the flower theme that our other daughter has. Rosa is a family name too so it’s a version of that. Finally, we wanted a saint name and it’s the English version of Rosalia after an Italian Saint . So it just fit perfectly in many ways for us!

  2. My middle name is Rosa so I thought Rosalie is perfect for my baby girl

  3. It was my grandma’s sister’s name. My grandma’s middle name is rose and so is mine. We just liked how pretty it sounds and how different and uncommon it was.

  4. This is a family name

  5. Rosalie’s name came from my grandma.

  6. We needed a French name (live on the border of QC and ON) that was easy for our English family to say as well. Rosalie is pronounced the same in both languages!

  7. My paternal grandma’s name was Rosalie we all called her Rose.

  8. I honestly got the name Rosalie from Twilight, I just thought the name was beautiful.
Her middle name is Jean. After her dad, my mom, and my grandpa. My husbands dad. and my great-grandpa

  9. We chose to name our daughter after all 4 of her great grandmothers. Her name is Rosalie Mae. Rosalie was my grandmother whom I was very close to. Mae is the middle name of both of my husbands grandmothers, as well as my other grandmother!

  10. I’ve always loved the name Rose and other nature/flower inspired names. But Rose with my last name didn’t sound “complete”. So I started looking for alternatives where her nickname could be Rose. Rosalie just felt right! It’s not super common but still a sweet, old fashioned name. I just love it.

  11. We wanted something unique and me and my husband fell in love with her name

  12. Honestly her name was supposed to be freya but when she was born it changed to rosalie. I loved the name and it kinda honored my grandmother who passed away. She loved Rose’s. I love the name because it’s not common none of my babies have common names. My rosie is a desert rose rare and beautiful.

  13. Rosalie is the first name my husband and I agreed on. We both thought it sounded very beautiful. We also like that it isn’t a common name. We did not find out the gender of our baby and I truly felt I was carrying a boy, so I never thought I would get to use the name! For nicknames we call her Rose or Rosie. Her name fits her very well and we get so many compliments on it!

  14. We always keep the gender a surprise for birth, and we have a few names picked out in advance because we want to meet our baby before officially naming him or her. With Rosalie Eve, she was born with strawberry blond “rose gold” hair so we went with our top girl pick, Rosalie. Eve, her middle name, represents the first woman created in the Bible, and our first daughter.
