Echo
A personification of unrequited love, in allusion to the nymph Echo, of Greek mythology, who pined away till only her voice remained, because of her unreturned love for Narcissus. In punishment, Nemesis caused Narcissus to pine away for love of his own reflection in a pond or spring, then changed him into a narcissus.
