Electra
“The brilliant or shining one,” from the Greek elektor, shining. In Greek legend, Electra persuaded her brother to kill her mother and her mother’s illicit lover. In modern versions, Electra is the daughter who has an erotic love for her father and an aversion for her mother, hence the Electra complex.
Eleanor
An English variant of the Old French Alienor, Eleanor is of unknown meaning.
