Andromeda
Originally, a name given by the Greeks to a little girl who boasted that she had the pencil and tassel of a baby boy. Derived from the Greek aner, an- dro (man) and medea (the genitals). Later, the name of a maiden chained to a cliff to be devoured by a monster, as an expiation for the vanity of her mother. She was rescued by Perseus, of Greek mythology, who also married her.
