   My husband and I are Christians and through biblical study we’ve learned just how important names are. So we prayed that God would tell us what he wanted us to name our (really His) baby.

   I woke up the next morning with the name Aurelius on my mind and I hadn’t even seen it in a baby name list because we were mostly looking at Biblical baby boy names. So I decided to look it up to see what it meant thinking it was going to be some amazing biblical name to find out only that it meant golden or golden one. I continued reading that sometimes people name their children this when they know that their child will most likely be a blondie. (My husband and I both have dark hair and brown eyes) so the odds of our kids being blonde were pretty slim.

   I decide to tell my husband and he wasn’t a huge fan of the name as it’s not a commonly heard name and I was in the same boat, but at the same time we didn’t want to ignore God if that was truly the name He wanted for this baby.

   The very same night we are reading bedtime stories to our four foster at the time now adopted children and the new Magic Treehouse story that we started that evening was about Marcus Aurelius. It was crazy to hear that name only to think about what was just given to us for the name of our coming child.

   My husband looked into Marcus Aurelius’ history a few days later and discovered that he was adopted and that is how he came to rule over his people. Another interesting fact as we were also in the process of adopting our four bigger babes. So we finally decided that we would name our son Aurelius.

   Delivery day came and guess who arrived with blonde hair? Our Aurelius! God knew all along, as He always does, that our boy was Aurelius from the start! ?
