  1. Once read that a king of England during the time old English & French were prominent languages in Britain decided that Charles was the English version of the name Cordell.

    As a Cordell myself, this has proven very useful as I lived in Spain where “Una Cordell” basically means a washing line. Therefore, I’m also known as Carlos!
