  1. My husband loved the name Saul because of King Saul from the Bible, and it also means “Asked for”

  2. I just felt it was his name. Like he had told me so

  3. Sa?l mean the one who is choose, asked or desired, and for us, he represent them all ?

  4. Originally I wanted to call him Solomon as he was due on the winter solstice and no other name really stuck although I had played with the name Sawley. Saul’s Dad is Irish and he suggested Saul after the mountain in Ireland St Patrick lived on it really seemed perfect with connections to my Jewish side and the Irish. Also I lost my dad a year and three days before Saul was born my dad was called Harold and that never felt right but his middle name was Samuel and all the letters of Saul are in that in order so again it just felt right. My mum was a Welsh Thomas and it is my partners middle name and relates to the clan so Saul Thomas just seemed like a brilliant combo. He is such a wise knowing little one he does definitely suit his name. Although for such a simple name we sure have to repeat it a lot. When I looked up the meaning in Hebrew it means gift that is asked for. After losing my dad and my brother a few years before and my mum and sisters battles with cancer and myself a twin miscarriage in 2017, at 43 he is really the gift I always wanted and his dad the son he didn’t have. I just hope he grows strong like a mountain with deep roots but reaching for the sky and I so love how he brings us so much joy every day xxx
