  1. My husband were watching the movie “Age of Adaline” and we fell in love with the name. We both love classic names and we originally thinking Charlotte. We wanted a name that was less popular.

  2. The first time I remember hearing this name I loved it. And I love the idea of Ada as a nickname. We chose this spelling because my husband didn’t want to have to change a letter in her name for her nickname, haha.

  3. My name is Ada as well as my niece and my husband wanted to name her Ada after her mom. As we had to many Ada’s we compromised for Adaline.

  4. My husband loved the name Adelind but I wasn’t a fan of the spelling. I feel that so much of a first impression comes from the spelling of your name and not the pronunciation. We looked at other names but kept coming back to variations. We settled on Adaline instead of the traditional spelling Adeline because my husband liked how it looked better (funny how that ended up being a deciding factor for him too). We love the name but we have definitely had plenty of people confused on how to say it, though it’s spelled phonetically, and some people who just call her something completely different. Most people call her Addy for short and the nickname suits her well.

    • My daughter is Adaline also and I so know what you mean about people not knowing how to say it! I admit I chose it because when I heard it on the movoe Age of Adaline I fell in love with the name.
