  1. I had the name Clementine picked out since i was 15. I watched eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, and that name has always stuck with me. At age 30 i was blessed to be pregnant with my first daughter. My stars finally aligned and I was able to get my tangerine! It is increasing in popularity quite rapidly, I’ve met a few already, so thats a big bummer. Also, people prononuce it “CLEMENTEEN” instead of “CLEMENTINE” drives me crazy. She will probably struggle spelling it later, but I absolutely love it. Our chosen nickname is “cutie”

  2. Video game name. Sweet, unique and I’ve never met anyone with that name.

  3. I love the name but it’s trying to get a nickname and I don’t like Clemmie did have a cute one but found out that her ex was called CC, so you have any ideal don’t like MINNIE either maybe like two letter for short

    • I go by Clem and my full name is clementine

  4. We didn’t find out the gender first and I was convinced it was a boy, so when out popped a girl we didn’t have any names finalised. Hubby vetoed all my suggestions, so I threw the baby name book at him on Day 2 and told him to find a name. He spent a long time looking through it and came back with Clementine. It’s a beautiful old-fashioned girl’s name that isn’t super common either. It was important that it wouldn’t be misspelt all the time (no one can spell my name and it’s always irritated me), that it’s not a weird name that no one can remember either, plus that it also works in the country we live in (we don’t live in a native English-speaking country). And then I also found out after that my great aunt’s second name was Clementine. Also, my husband’s grandfather was called Clement, so we kept it in the family as well.

  5. Positives: We chose Clementine for our daughter’s name because first, we like the name and it seemed to fit her, but second, clemency means to give mercy or to pardon. I love love this name and it’s meaning! At first I was a little hesitant since it’s an orange, but after awhile, I got used to it and decided to embrace it. Her room is now orange! It is so sweet and unique (just like her). Negatives: I think it might be difficult for her to learn to spell since it is so long. Also, not really a shortened version of the name. I sometimes call her “Clem” or “Clemy” but the full name is really what fits.
