  1. We think it’s unique and yet classic like all the nicknames like Ettie

  2. I love my name and love to talk to people who we share a same name love you Colette ? ? ?

  3. My family on my mother’s side is French and I wanted to give our daughter a French name. Colette means “people of victory” which we thought was a strong name. It’s unique but not too “out there”, and we love the nickname Coco!

  4. We chose Colette because we wanted a French name to honor her grandmother’s heritage, but we didn’t want a typical French name. The only things we don’t like about the name is that sometimes people misspell it with an extra L and sometimes it is mispronounced “Col-ette” instead of “Co-lette”. We chose Coco as her nickname. It is rare to meet another Colette, but it’s fun when we do because it’s always unexpected. We’ve never met another child named Colette, only adults.

  5. It was interesting reading about my name, that is the correct spelling, I added the extra L, YEARS ago when in high school. My problem was, it was/is not a common name and most times students could not remember my name.

  6. We fell in love with the nickname “Letty” and wanted her full name to be Colette!

    • We have a ‘Lettie.’ She came 8 weeks early during the pandemic and embodies everything about tiny, mighty, and strong willed!

  7. Saint Colette is the patron saint of those longing to conceive. Our daughter was conceived after 3 years of trying.

  8. I love how feminine the name is and her middle name is Rose. My dad always bought me roses for my birthday and they were my wedding flower too.
