  1. We had a list of twenty names we narrowed down to five and let her big brother who was 3 years old, pick out which one he liked the most, and it was the perfect choice for her! Mabel means ‘loveable’ and is she ever!

  2. Never thought about this before, but don’t we have a major makeup company named Mabel with Line added at the end? “Maybelline“, with their slogan, “Maybe She’s Born with It, Maybe it’s Maybelline!”

  3. It is her maternal great great grandmother’s name. I was stuck on names that start with an “M”. We were also drawn to its Latin meaning (loveable), which is a character trait I hope she will always have.

  4. Mabel is our first out of 5! Our second was Allen and then Colin, when we had our 4th we named her Alma, (I think Alma and Mabel went so well together) When we were pregnant with my 5th (in 2019) My husband pointed out that we almost spelled macaw. One of my favourite names that my husband could never get behind was Warren. My husband couldn’t think of a better W name. I call him my Bunny (Like a Warren of bunnies) We did some other cool things with their middle names. For example, all my kids’ middle names have the “PH”. Mabel Phoebe, Allen Philip, Colin Phineas, Alma Phaedra and Warren Philbert (We’re a little crazy when it comes to naming.)

  5. Husband and I went through both of our family trees and picked out names we liked. We chose Mabel because it is such a sweet name, a little old fashioned and not super popular right now.

  6. Mabel is the only name my husband and I could agree on. I love boy names for girls and our first daughter is named Parker. My husband likes more of the old fashioned names so we agreed upon Mabel.
