  1. I was going letter to letter thinking of common names with each letter and replacing the first letter of the name with a different letter and when I got to the letter P the name Paige ran across my mind I start replacing the P with different letters and thus I replaced it with an S and created Saige but said I’d rather spell it without the i. I immediately looked up the name and loved the meaning and Sage was stuck in my head

  2. My fianc? and I choose the name Sage because we love hiking and being in nature and every time we hike we pick some Sage. We really love the name Sage because it represents nature to us.

  3. Short, cute, nature inspired

  4. I was scrolling through Pinterest and came across the name Sage which I’ve always loved. I wanted something unique and different, but still pretty (in my opinion)

  5. I like the colour green. Hence, i likes “Sage Green”. I named all my nieces and their names begin with letter “S” so for my daughter i picked Sage as her first name. Fernanda is her her second name in honour of my Dad who passed away 2 years ago.

  6. I loved the uniqueness of the name Sage. It’s not a name you hear every day which is always important to me when naming my children. One of the main reasons we chose this name was because it meant wisdom. We pray that our daughter grows up to be wise and discerning. As a natural mama myself I also liked that it had an earthy meaning like when you think of the herb. I just loved everything about this name for our daughter.

  7. I think it is very beautiful and it also sounds similar to my name.

  8. I absolutely love the meaning of the name Sage because it means “the Wise one”
Sage is also a herb that’s being used for many reasons including cooking

  9. Sage means wisdom and I also love the color! We call her Sagey. I also love that it’s an herb as herbs helped both my husband and I with fertility issues!

  10. Love the name, love the plant & love the meaning!

  11. It means wisdom, but that’s not why I chose it. I gravitated to names from nature, but it couldn’t be too weird because that wouldn’t fly with my husband. I love sage, and I also regularly cleanse my house by burning sage. It always feels like a new beginning or fresh start. Also, Sage wasn’t on the top 100 names, and I wanted something unique.

  12. Sage was a name my husband and I both loved long before we were pregnant. We knew we wanted something strong and gender neutral. The name is inspired by nature with both feminine and masculine tones and means ‘someone who has attained wisdom.’ Sage is also an herb commonly used to cleanse negative energy and make room for positive vibes. We are so happy with the name we choose, it fits our daughter perfectly.

  13. Our eldest daughter’s name is Willow and when we found out we were expecting another little girl the hunt was on for a nice companion name. I have always liked botanical names because they feel both old fashioned and modern at the same time.

Sage was a name we considered during my first pregnancy but we didn’t like it as much as Willow. During my second pregnancy my husband brought it up and it just felt right. Sage means wise the herb is thought to bring about wisdom and a long, healthy life. I liked how that tied in with the metaphorical meanings I liked about Willow. I loved the thought that my girls would be strong, wise, flexible and enduring.

Burning Sage is said to help impart wisdom and help purify a space by chasing off the ‘bad spirits’ or negative energy.

I also loved how it is a green herb and goes really nicely with Willow. I loved how it looks written down and how it sounds to say.
