Share Your Thoughts 1 Comment Chloe Jun 16 at 5:17 pm I had really liked the name Addalyn at first. I can’t remember if it was the first time I had heard it or not but my history teacher my freshman year of high school had a daughter named Addilynn (same pronunciation as above) and I remember really loving it. I also really loved the Blake Lively movie “The Age of Adaline,” so both got added on the list (I have had an extensive baby name list since at least junior high, if not sooner). And over the past 7 years since then Addalyn had worked up to my number one favorite on my list for a girl, but I had Adaline on there as well. My husband like Addaline a bit better and when I thought about my next few favorites for future kiddos I liked the more classic, Adaline. Then we just had to choose the spelling & we both liked the look of two “d’s”. It also means noble, and her middle name is Dawn which means morning. Our last name is Hunt, so her name altogether means “noble morning hunt”, which I thought was very Downton Abbey-esqe, which is one of my favorite shows. I also like that it’s a older and not super popular name these days and very few people we know, know an Addaline.
