I haven’t known many Amys but the ones I have known are full of life, have big hearts, are everyone’s friend, and have a great sense of humor. It’s a name that is feminine but not too girly. I can see an Amy all dressed up but I can also see an Amy climbing mountains. Simple and sweet. Reply Ahleah Jun 8 at 10:46 am I name amy after my old sister that dead i love that amy because it was my old sister name Reply Amy Jun 6 at 10:10 am My husband is one of four boys. My mother in law always wanted a girl, and when my husband and his twin brother were born, she had hoped for two girls, and Amy was one of the names she had picked out. My husband always pushed for us to use the name Amy, and I always said no because it wasn’t a saint name. This time we were having our fifth girl, and I finally relented, but told him I got to pick the middle name. Her name is Amy Faustina Anne, which is another long explanation, lol. My husband’s name is David. Amy means beloved. After she was born, I found out that David also means beloved! ? Reply Julie Apr 11 at 3:20 pm I spent a long time praying about my daughter’s name. I would go to our weekly Friday night prayer meeting just to ask God about that! One time, in prayer, I had a vision of me holding a bundled baby. She was so bright and shining I couldn’t even see her. I could hear many voices around me saying how lovely she was. Later on, my husband and I were flipping through his old high school yearbook to look at names. The name “Amy” stood out to me. When I looked up the meaning and saw that it was “beloved”, I knew it was the one. I like that it’s easy to spell and say. I also like that it’s not so popular these days but that it’s still easily recognizable. I guess you could say it’s a classic name.
