As a child my mother used to read my sister and I Greek Mythology as bed stories. Athena was always a name that stood out to me and I always loved what she represented. This is my third child and second daughter and I’m thrilled that I got to name her a name I had picked out since I was young, my ex husband didn’t care for the name so we named my oldest daughter something else, she is still named a name I love but I still had my heart set on Athena. It’s so unique and beautiful ! Who doesn’t want to be named after a mythical Goddess ? Reply Molly Jun 10 at 11:32 am My husband and I wanted to choose a strong name that had an ancient ring to it. My husband’s family has Greek roots, so that is how we were led to look through the Greek mythology for a name. Athena is the goddess of wisdom and war. Perfect for our strong and smart baby girl! I love her name because it sounds so beautiful and strong. We call her Thena for short, I usually call her Thena beans or Thena beena. We love our little goddess so much. Reply Madelyn Jun 8 at 9:58 am I chose the name Athena because ever since I was little I always loved the name plus I love the meaning of her name She is a very important goddess of many things. She is goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, strategic warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill. Reply Ileana Jun 7 at 12:54 pm Athena is a strong warriors name. Named after the goddess of war, wisdom truth and knowledge.
