  1. My husband chose it, he had it in his head before she was even conceived.
I love the name, I think it’s unique. Her middle name is Mapuana – a Hawaiian term for “fragrant breeze” – I chose that one, it’s my moms middle name.

  2. We chose this name for a number of reasons for our baby girl. We felt it was beautiful and feminine and mysterious. It symbolizes other cultures to us and we hope she has a vivid curiosity of the world bear and far. We went for a hike the day labor started and on our hike I saw an Indigo Bunting (bird). I also really like the nickname “Indi“.

  3. I loved the uniqueness of her name and that it represents a wide range of colors in the blue family. Indigo is the color of the 3rd eye chakra which is associated with wisdom, intuition, and connection to highest self. throughout pregnancy I had visions of blue and felt a blue aura, chose blue clothes, etc. I believe she was connecting me to her spirit, so Indigo felt like the perfect fit!

  4. Beautiful name. Really love it.

  5. We were going to name her Ruby, but my oldest child came up with the name Indigo. He’s so proud to name his little sister and thinks she’s pretty neat!
I love that the name is unique but doesn’t sound cutesie. It feels like a strong and wild name and that’s exactly the girl I know I’m going to be raising.
