  1. Augustine is my husbands middle name. He goes by Gus, but this baby will go by Augie. Augustine is a great saint!

  2. Augustine is a boys name with the meaning great and magnificent with German and latin origins. I just love the meaning of the name because I want my lovely baby to be great in the future and I want him to be the best in everything.

  3. Its a significant name that means
    A= ASK
    U= UNTIL
    G= GOD
    U= UNVAILS
    S= SOMETHING
    T= TANGIBLE
    I= IN
    N= NEW

  4. We chose the name Augustine because my husband and I attended Catholic Student Centers in college named after St. Augustine, but at separate schools! We love the name because it is a very clear sign of our faith, and a shared faith conversion experience. It’s a unique name, and we don’t call him by a nickname!

  5. We wanted a name to match with his middle name which is a namesake to his grandpa whom we love and respect. We also wanted a name that was distinct and could have different nicknames if he wanted as he grew up. Augustine means respected for their wisdom and character which is a name we will enjoy seeing him grow into and right now we call him Gus and Auggie.

  6. We named our 1 week old son Augustine and truly feel it was given to us by the Holy Spirit. When I came across this name months ago, my husband didn’t care for it. When I approached it with him a second time, he loved it. A common nickname for Augustine is Augie which was what I called my beloved grandmother. (Her name was Olga.)
