  1. I chose Micah as it’s a unique bible name that means “who is like God”. Also Micah was a prophet in the bible.

Only thing I dislike about the name is that when pronounced many mistaken it for Michael.

  2. Naming my son Micah was the best name for him it fits him.
Its different keeping it biblical what I was trying to do.
He also looks like a Micah

  3. God gave me the name after we had a miscarriage. I heard a mom call her child at the grocery store and I looked up the meaning right then and there as I am a big believer in names that have strong meanings and I knew it was a Hebrew name. Micah means “Who is like God?”. I knew that was the name God wanted me to use for our next baby he would give us. Over a year later we named our son Micah and every time I say it I smile thinking about God’s faithfulness and that there is truly none like Him.

  4. My husband and I liked it before we knew he was a boy. One day at church we come across it and liked it. We never really thought about
another name, it was meant for him.?

  5. Micah means ‘Who is like God?’ & reminds us everyday of how great & awesome our God is. Only He can create & bring forth perfect little miracles into our lives 🙂
I like it because it is handsome & strong.

  6. I love Biblical names that strike a balance between not being too common but not being “unusual” either. There’s depth of meaning to these ancient names, yet Micah still sounds sounds fresh and strong.

  7. We love the biblical meaning behind the name Micah. It is a strong name with a lot of history.

  8. Micah means “who can be like God?”. Throughout pregnancy we learned more and more about who God is as a magnificent Creator. No one can be like God; he is truly a supreme and wonderful God. We loved the name Micah because it reminds us of God’s sovereignty in our lives.

  9. We named our son Micah after the verse Micah 6:8. We pray that he acts justly, loves mercy, and walks humbly with God. We love him so much!

  10. He is amazing !

  11. Every Micah I have known in the past – whether 2 years old or a 17 year old in high school, has been a very smart, kind and generally great person. It has been one of my top names for a boy for years and my husband was on board with it. We are also using family names for middle names, so his middle name is after my husband. Future children will have middle names after other family members.

  12. We love the way it sounds. We also love that it was a prophet in the bible.

  13. Micah 6:8

  14. I have always loved the name Micah from the Bible and Gene is after my grandfather who passed away some years ago.

  15. I love what it means

  16. I choose the name Micah because it’s a biblical name and it’s also an M name like myself and siblings and my eldest son name also starts with M

  17. It means “Beloved” and “Who is Like God?”.

  18. He is a jr like his dad cause he always wanted a boy and we tried for years

  19. Micah pronounced “Mee-cah” instead of “My-can”.

My partner and I were just joking around with gender neutral names, and I came across Micah on Pinterest, and my partner loved it.
He waterskis, and his wetsuit brand name is “Mica“, we both laughed, and decided that was going to be our baby’s name. Love that it also means to be humble, because this whole parenting thing has been a “humbling” experience.

Some people pronounce his name the way of the bible, but it’s okay, most people can’t even get “Mercedes” correct. Ahaha.

  20. I came across the name in the early weeks of my first pregnancy and liked it. I knew a couple other kids with the name. I liked it because it was easy to spell but not super common.

  21. All our children’s names end in “uh”: Makenna, Noah, Emma, Judah. Our boys also have Biblical names. We weren’t finding out the gender of our 5th child but when he arrived, it only took us a few days (haha!) to decide upon Micah! <3

  22. My husband chose his name. He knew a Micah in high school and always thought it was a cool name. I love that it’s a classical bible name, but not over used. I don’t like that it has become a unisex name, I feel like girls can use any name these days, but it limits the number of strong boys names.
