  1. We chose Zuri because we knew she would be beautiful.

  2. I chose the name zuri because i thought that it paired well with my daughters middle name which is Sophia. I got the name from a kids TV show called bunk’d. Since my daughter has been born I have had a chance to here her name being said by me and others I think I made a great choice because it’s a name that will be great for her as a kid and even as a adult. Overall I think the name zuri fits my daughter well and I hope one day she feels the same way.

  3. I chose Zuri Ma’at because I wanted her to have beautiful yet culturally relevant names with African origins. Zuri is a Swahili word that means beautiful. Her middle name is Ma’at (pronounced MAH at). Ma’at is an Egyptian Goddess that represents truth and balance.

  4. When Zuri was born we hadn’t chosen a name yet. There were several that we liked, but nothing that necessarily jumped out more than another. Before we left the birthing center we said each name aloud, looking at her, and had it narrowed down to two choices fairly quickly. In the end we chose Zuri because we didn’t want a name that would be so common she would have 5 others the same in her class, and also becaise the meaning, beautiful, is simple and suits her (in our eyes, of course she’s beautiful ?).
