  1. We prayed over our baby’s name our entire pregnancy and didn’t officially decide until he was two days old at the hospital! We named him after Saint Jude I hopes of him having some of his wonderful attributes, like compassion and strength. We love his name and couldn’t imagine a more perfect choice for him!

  2. We landed on “Jude” pretty early on in our pregnancy. Before we found out the gender, we had “Jack Thomas” picked out as our boy name, but as soon as we found out we were having a boy, the name wasn’t landing with me anymore! I wanted the name to be simple like Jack, but slightly more unique. So one morning, “Hey Jude” came on the playlist shuffle I was listening to and I was like yup, that’s it!! I grew up listening to The Beatles, and my husband and I are both musicians. And, “Hey Jude” was the last song that we played at our wedding! Then as if it weren’t kismet enough, after I called my husband to ask him what he thought about Jude Thomas as our son’s name (he loved it), I went to catch up on Stephen Colbert, and naturally the guest he hosted the night before was Paul McCartney, who was on the show to talk about his new children’s book, nonetheless! 🙂 It was pretty amazing. I sang Hey Jude to my son all through my pregnancy, and when he was born a couple weeks ago and let out his first breath and cry, I started to sing it to him, and he immediately calmed down and nestled into me. I will never, ever forget that most precious moment!

  3. We chose Jude because St. Jude is my patron saint, the saint of impossible causes. I was told by several doctors I would never be able to get pregnant without fertility medications. My husband and I prayed the novena to St. Jude and we conceived the 2nd month of our marriage! St. Jude, pray for us.

  4. I had a girl’s name picked out but I couldn’t decide on a boy named well whenever I was going into my ultrasound to find the sex out the song Lion of Judah came on and I instantly fell in love with the name Jude so I thought this is it. If this song that I love so much came on as I’m driving into my ultrasound, then this has to be it and well now his name is Jude.

  5. He is named after Saint Jude, the patron saint of hopelessness and impossible causes!

  6. My husband and I loved the name Jude for a boy before we were even married. Jude is a name that could be associated with the book of the Bible, or many other famous characters and songs. Our son is named Jude Anchor, because Anchor means “steadfast”.
