  1. I’ve always just loved old fashioned names. With my first child my momma told me when you find a name you just can’t get out of your head and its all you think about then you will I ow that it’s the name meant for your child. That’s exactly how I picked the name for all 3 of my children. I just simply couldn’t stop thinking about it. It fits him so so perfectly.

  2. We all had a hand in naming our baby Sawyer was choosen as his dad was a lead Sawyer on his job for many years before moving up to a boss and Sage because its sacred to our Native American culture and Lee is after his big sister Leela so his name is Sawyer Sage Lee ?

  3. It was a name that you don’t see very often…thought about jase, but the oldest is named chase and that could get confusing

  4. My boyfriend and I both grew up in the country and we just simply wanted a real southern name for our little bundle of joy.

  5. Named after the story of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Not as popular as Finn, still has a n adventurous undertone. Routed in old fashioned morals and values. Rom Sawyer was independent/ adventurous, spirited but also kind, honest and loyal.

  6. We were looking for something not Super common and fell in love with the name!

  7. Our oldest son is Wyatt, a friend suggested it back in 2010 and it wasn’t a common name at all, but now it seems there are Wyatts everywhere. I had only heard it as a last name and of course the famous Wyatt Earp. Our youngest, about to be one, is Sawyer. I love the movie Dolphin Tale and the boy in the movie is Sawyer, and plus I always liked the music by Sawyer Brown when I was a teen. Don’t hear the name too much, as of yet, so thought it was unique.

  8. Sawyer we got from the show Lost! Loved the depth of character. Our Sawyer is wild and sweet!

  9. I had a feeling I was carrying a boy, though we choose to wait until the birth to find out. We had no boys names picked out, until I heard a song on the radio one day by the Sawyer Brown Band. I fell in love with name and so did my husband! It fits our son perfectly and I love that it’s not a common name!

    • I love Sawyer Brown!! One of my favorite bands in my teen years.

  10. We picked the name Sawyer because of our Irish ancestry on both sides. The name is Celtic. I also liked it because I’m a bookworm: Tom Sawyer. I pictured a little boy having all of these adventures.
