Her name comes from Greek mythology and that is honestly the only place I have heard her name. I absolutely love everything about her name especially since it’s the Greek goddess of spring which comes after winter the month she was born in. It’s just perfect. Reply Kasandra Rocha Feb 2 at 1:54 pm I named my daughter Persephanie in 2007. I loved the name but had to make the name look prettier so I switched up the spelling. I love it? Reply Cat Dec 28 at 3:27 am She was a solstice baby and Persephone embodies that period between winter and spring. She’s also a powerful goddess and queen and we want to give our daughter the opportunity to be empowered. Downside is, no one knows how to say it and it will always need an explanation for people who don’t know about Greek mythology. Reply Kylie Addington Dec 4 at 9:10 am I’ve loved the name ever since I learnt the mythology behind it. Hades has always been my favorite Greek God, and I used to dream of being his wife. I learnt recently that it means “the one who brings chaos” and instantly I knew this had to be my name. See, I’m going to change my name soon, and I’ve been looking for a middle name. And now I’ve found one. Reply Megan Sep 25 at 8:12 pm I have a love for mythology so it was the perfect fit. Reply Kassie Aug 3 at 12:04 pm Persephone is the Greek Goddess of Spring. Daughter of Demeter and Zeus, Persephone is the beautiful goddess of spring. She is called Kore: Beautiful Maiden, She is also the Queen of the Underworld. Her story is one of abduction, love, grief, and celebration. I’ve overcome a lot in my life and I realize that she will as well. The world we live in sadly is hell to thrive in. This little girl is a survivor and she will not only survive but rule the world she lives in.. I knew from the beginning, the moment I connected with her energy I felt that she was strong. Now that I’ve met her I believe her name to be perfect. It was actually tossed out as a joke name originally but everybody in the room got chills as we saw her little feet kicking around my belly. It was then that we knew… Reply Christina Jun 29 at 9:15 am We chose Persephone because it’s unique but simple. The name is easy to spell despite having a beautiful pronunciation. The name comes from Greek Mythology, and Persephone is the goddess of spring. Perfect for our April (supposed to be may) baby. Reply Lillian Apr 11 at 1:43 pm We chose it and love it because it is unique, rare and difficult to shorten into a nickname. It had a beautiful ring to it and we also loved the mythology behind it. Everyone comments on how beautiful a name it is. The thing I don’t like it that people assume I’m saying Stephanie when I introduce her. Having to spell it out is annoying at times and people mispronouncing it (since it looks like purse-phone ). We gave her a middle name that was simple in case she wants to use her middle name in the future instead of her first name (due to the difficulties).
