Ayden Name Meaning

Meaning “little fire,” Ayden sure has one burning in our hearts. With his spunky sound and unique spelling, he’s a natural on any modern name lovers’ list.

His inner y gives him serious cool points, a hot trend that can be seen in his cousins Kayden and Jayden, as well as more established picks like Cyrus and Tyson. The styling gives him an added edge over other variants of the name like Aidan and Aiden.

While his spelling may signal his youth, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. He’s perfect on a little guy ready to take on the world. He doesn’t have a bit of rigidity to him either, a name fit for a boy determined to have fun. We love this relaxed side to him and hope you do too.

The Ayden spelling is not the most popular but combined with the other variations of the name, he is definitely more popular than you’d think. This could be a dealbreaker for some parents, as he will be heard more often than one would expect and will likely go by his first name and last initial in more than one class in life. Honestly, popularity isn’t that bad, however. The name is great and should be enjoyed!

  1. We picked the name Ayden because we wanted an Irish/Celtic name and when I was first pregnant I wanted spicy, acidic foods. So I looked up the name using the mean “fire” and Ayden came up. Our niece is Ember meaning fire bringer, and his initials spell ASH. So it worked out perfect!

  2. No matter girl or boy a name or no name its what you make of it, not what it makes of you.

  3. I was wondering what it meant

  4. We just thought it was a pretty name

  5. I chose the name Ayden because it was in my top three list after birth, I had a very long very rough birth and wasn’t able to hold him for 4 hours after I gave birth, so when I did I knew Ayden sounded like a fighter name and that’s what he was. He was a fighter. I like that Ayden fits well with his middle name which is Alexander I love the double A names.

    • I also named my son Ayden Alexander who was born Nov 9th!!

  6. I loved the name because of its biblical meaning of attractice and handsome.

    • my name is ayden and i hate when people make fun of it because im a girl with a boys name.
