Christian Name Meaning

A deeply religious name that’s seen a spike in modern popularity, Christian means “follower of Christ”. He’s a sweet pick with a soft sound, wearing well among today’s naming trends.

As his popularity has been steady since the 1980s, Christian is a familiar name that doesn’t at all feel too title-esque despite being one. He’s managed to graduate from being another word name into a regular pick aside Ryan, Nathan, and Isaiah.

Christian also has some serious cool vibes to him thanks to being the name of several contemporary movie and sports stars. Royal watchers can also recognize him as the name of several kings.

A gentle name, Christian has a soothing sound. He does feel quite mature and can be a little tricky for a small child to say, but he does work on all ages. Nicknames like Chris or the playful Christo make him more approachable, but overall he’s free from feeling stuffy.

Christian is a gentle soul with a generous heart, often concerned with others before himself. He takes his responsibilities seriously and is always sure to live up to his word. He has a hidden playful side that doesn’t often show but is beloved by those around him.
