  1. Evangeline Manoj is my name and I love it.

  2. We chose Evangeline because we like romantic, old, classic names but also because of the meaning: “bearer of good news.” She also has the option to go by “Eva” if she wants so we liked giving her options.

  3. We named our second daughter Evangeline. It’s been used as middle name in my dad’s family for several generations and I always liked it growing up! I asked my grandma about using it as a first name and giving it a fresh take with the nickname Eva. She loved the idea and so did we! We love our sweet Evangeline Rose.

  4. i like very much for Rachel Evangeline name.

    • Evangeline means to me, a female child called to share the goodnews

  5. It means “good news” or “gospel.” We’ve had a scary pregnancy, so we wanted to give her a name full of joy and hope!

  6. I absolutely loved the movie Princess and the Frog when I was 13, and there is a character named Evangeline. Fell in love with the name and decided that’s what I would name my first daughter. Also love the actress Evangeline Lilly

  8. We loved the meaning – ‘bringer of good news’ – and her nickname Evie means ‘life!’ 🙂

    • We loved the meaning – ‘bringer of good news’ – and her nickname Evie means ‘life!
      ?

  9. Evangeline Rose is the named after her two great grandmothers. We love both of those women and hope that their character and things we love about them are passed on to this babe.

She’s also beautiful and it’s the perfect name for such a looker. 🙂

  10. The meaning of Evangeline is “to share the gospel”. Her middle name, Grace, means “the favor of God.” Those are our prayers for her – that she shares the gospel of God’s Grace with all of those she comes to meet and know. We also loved the nickname “Evy” (pronounce Eh-vee, not Ee-vee), and it was the perfect combination of a name with a beautiful meaning and a nickname we loved!

  11. I read Longfellow’s poem in high school and fell in love with the name Evangeline. I have a lot of French/Spanish family history in Louisiana, so it felt perfect for our first girl.

  12. Some of our criteria for choosing a baby name are 1) it needs to be fairly unique but not strange, and 2) it needs to have meaning. We came across Evangeline (we pronounce it E-van-jah-line) and loved how it could morph as she aged. She’s currently 2yrs old and we primarily call her Evie or Eve. As she ages she can keep those nicknames or go by her full first name!

The name means “bearer of good news” and we love to proclaim that over her, which is why we named her Evangeline Grace.

Only negative to the name is if you pronounce it differently. Most people call her “E-van-jah-leen” which is not how we pronounce it, but it’s not a huge deal.

  13. Evangeline had her name long before conception. I liked the name “Evie” as a nickname and when I heard the name “Evangeline” thought it was perfect. It means “Bearer of good news”. Her middle name is “Veritas” which is Latin for “truth”. Giving her that name is our way fo speaking over her life- our desire for her to be a Truth proclaimer!

  14. I came across the name Evangeline on an internet hunt for the perfect name for our first daughter. I absolutely loved it the moment I heard it. How lengthy and delicate it sounded, very feminine. I wasn’t planning on using a nickname for her, though my husbands great grandmother’s name was Eva, so we could very well honor this in the name, and we do call her Eva from time to time. We pronounce it with a long vowel E sound. E-vangeline. Paired with the middle name Grace, it’s a beautiful name also referring to the good news of the gospel and god’s grace for his children.

  15. The foremost reason we chose Evangeline is because we had never met anyone with the name. We first heard it being used for the character in the movie Nanny McPhee, and I thought it was beautiful…even when the brusque cook was screaming it:) After placing it towards the top of the list I was speaking to a dear friend who out of nowhere said “I know what you should name the baby: Evangeline!” Perhaps it was a wild coincidence, but I like to think the universe (or God) was confirming our choice for us!
