  1. Biblical and Nature name. Wish there was a cuter nickname to go with it thoigh

  2. The name “Eden” carries profound significance, especially within the Christian faith, including the Seventh-day Adventist tradition. Its roots and implications can be multifaceted:

Biblical Origin: The name “Eden” is most famously derived from the Garden of Eden in the Bible, mentioned in the Book of Genesis. This garden is depicted as a place of pristine beauty and innocence, the original home of Adam and Eve, and represents a state of perfect harmony with God and nature. In Hebrew, “Eden” means “pleasure” or “delight,” symbolizing a place of joy and contentment.

Spiritual Significance: For many Christians, including Seventh-day Adventists, the Garden of Eden is more than just a historical or allegorical location; it represents a state of grace and close communion with God. Naming a child “Eden” might reflect a desire for them to lead a life filled with spiritual richness and a close relationship with God.

Potential Impact on the Child: Names can have a psychological impact on individuals. The name “Eden,” with its connotations of peace, beauty, and purity, might inspire a child to embody these qualities. Additionally, the biblical and spiritual significance of the name could foster a strong sense of identity and purpose.

Cultural and Contemporary Use: In contemporary times, “Eden” is used as a gender-neutral name, appreciated for its simplicity, elegance, and connection to nature and spirituality. It’s a name that transcends cultural boundaries and is easily pronounceable in many languages, making it a globally appealing choice.

Seventh-day Adventist Perspective: In the Seventh-day Adventist faith, which places a strong emphasis on the Genesis creation narrative and the hope of returning to a state of Edenic perfection in the New Earth, the name “Eden” can be particularly meaningful. It symbolizes a yearning for spiritual restoration and a life in harmony with God’s original plan for humanity.

  3. I chose this name because it is the name of gods garden paradise and as this was my last baby , I found it fitting

  4. My husband and I both loved the name and the meaning of pleasure/paradise. We are looking forward to being in paradise with Christ forever. Her middle name is Victoria which reminds me that Christ is victorious over sin and death! We love her so much and it fits her perfectly.
Her siblings are Asaph and Mercy, and they all go nicely together in our theme of slightly-obscure-Bible names. 🙂

  5. My name is Eden and my parents chose my name for the exact same reason y’all did. Like Eden Lily, my middle name is a flower, but unlike Eden Lily, it’s Eden Rose.

  6. Eden reminds me of what once was and the promise of being in the presence of Jesus again one day.
It’s a simple sweet girls name, not plain but not pretentious.

It can sound like Eatin’ with some accents haha

  7. I liked the name Eden because it’s elegant, biblical, and my other daughters name starts with E.

  8. Chose this name for our daughter as a reminder that God is bringing heaven to earth and will make everything new. We delight in His presence (Eden means delight) and our baby girl is SUCH a delight to us!

    • I called my girl Eden. After my grans perfume, she passed away,

  9. She is beautiful like the Garden of Eden and we can’t wait to watch her grow!

  10. Our faith is hugely important to us, and as our family story has taken us down a path of regenerative farming and a natural lifestyle and a closeness with our Creator, a phrase we use frequently has been “back to the Garden” – as in, a return to the way life was originally created to be. Our baby was born during a big year of transition in that journey, so we chose the name Eden to remind us of this time in our lives as we “return to the Garden”.

  11. We chose Eden after the garden of Eden. We love names that start with “e” for all of our children, and want each of them to have a religious aspect to their name as well as a family name. So for this baby we chose Eden Grace (Grace being a family name).

  12. We named her Eden Grace in reference to fall in the garden of Eden. Even though Adam and Eve sinned against God, He gave them grace! We all are sinners and need a lot of grace!

We also liked the name Eden because we don’t know hardly any Eden’s, yet Eden is an easy name that’s not far out there.

    • I have an Eden Grace too! 🙂

  13. I named her after the Garden in Genesis. When I think about the Garden of Eden I think about the paradise God created for us to dwell in and the promise that He’s going to restore it back to its original glory one day. When I look at my Eden I literally feel the joy and hope of creation in a way I never have before. She’s the first of her generation on my side just like I was.

  14. My daughter is Eden as well.. I love the name, even still amd she is 5 amd a half. Now we’re having a second daughter and we can NOT seem to find a name as good. We would like it if it was biblical as well.. but we can’t seem to find anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  15. We truly didn’t choose Eden. I had a time of prayer and truly felt that Eden was at least supposed to be a part of our child’s name. You see we didn’t find the gender out until birth. I honestly thought it was going to be the middle name of either boy or girl. We waited with a list of names to name our child and my husband felt Eden was supposed to be her first given name.
I believe that the garden of Eden was a place where we closely walked with God our creator hand in hand without any distraction or separation. When I was talking to God, I felt Him give me Eden as a name because our child would walk with Him hand in hand without distraction. I had never thought of the name Eden and it was truly just placed before me.
    We love her name!

Only downfall. Sounds a lot like Eaten. We hope our little one will roll with whatever comes her way haha! 🙂

    • my name is eden what a surprise o-o lol

  16. Wanted a name from the Bible.

  17. I like Eden because its biblical. Hebrew. And because it has to do with nature.

  18. My husband and I had several baby girl names picked out that we liked, but were struggling to find a name we loved. So, I decided to pray and ask Heavenly Father what name our baby girl might want, or if He had a name for her already. The next day I was scrolling through names online and the name Eden stuck out to me and I couldn’t get it out of my head. I knew that was the name our baby wanted! I ran it by my husband and family and they all fell in love instantly with the name!

  19. My daughter is Eden Hope as well. We’re trying to name our second daughter, due in December and it feels much more difficult this time.

  20. I chose the name Eden because I wanted something different but not crazy. Her middle name is Lily (my favorite flower). Eden- after the garden or Eden and Lily being my favorite flower.

  21. We wanted a unique biblical girl name.

  22. We liked Eden because it was unique and found in the Bible. We knew it was used for both boys and girls but it seems to suit whoever the child is. We love our daughter’s name and glad we chose it.
Her first and middle are Eden Hope. It’s easy to say to people, Eden like the Garden of Eden.
