Bryson Name Meaning

A classic surname with modern styling, Bryson has been making strides in recent years. Like Carter and Logan, he easily transitions from last name to first, bringing with him a sense of sophistication.

The -son suffix has been trending for both boys and girls, with Jackson and Grayson Bryson’s more popular brothers with the style. Bryson is a fresh alternative, an unexpected pick with a catchy sound. Bryson is quite the unique pick, skirting the sound of many chart toppers while avoiding insane levels of popularity. Meaning “Brice’s son”, Bryson can also be used to honor a Bryan.

Unlike many trendy picks of today, Bryson escapes the trap of feeling childish. He has a maturity to him that’s hard to miss and comes with the adorable nickname of Bryce if you’re looking to shorten him. He’s also not that difficult to spell or pronounce, avoiding potential issues that some names may encounter.

Bryson may be mature, but that doesn’t mean he lacks boyish charm. He has a hint of mischief to him, right at home on an independent little one with a mind of his own. Energetic and full of life, little Bryson loves nothing more than filling the role of class clown or sports star.

Similar names include Branson, Braylon, and Tyson.

  2. I love the name I chose. This name fits my son well. How I came up with this name almost 31 years ago, when it was not as popular was:
My best friend was Brian and the baby I was carrying was my first son. His father did not care what I named him so it was a win for me and my son.

  3. we wanted something that wasn’t soooo known and nothing tooo much!! so we found bryson! it fits him perfectly !

  4. My name is Ellen, my partner’s name is Steven. I originally wanted to name him Brysen. Because both our names end with -en and I completely forgot. There is nothing I dislike about Bryson.

  5. His dads name is Bryce so he wanted the same but I want the baby to have his own name so I kinda just twisted it a little lol

  6. i chose this name because my god mothers last name was bryson and she passes away. I thought i’d keep a little part of her always.

  7. It wasn’t very easy for me to pick his name I literally had notebook papers full of names as soon as I thought I’d found one that I liked I would choose a different one just to end up right back at the one that I started with which is what ended up happening in the end Bryson was the very first name that I had picked and I kept going back and forth I like it I don’t like it I like it I and don’t like it but in the end that’s why I ended up liking and I asked his dad for his opinion and he said that that’s what he liked so that’s what we went with pretty boring story

    • God, I hate his name who names there Bryson

  8. Bryson is actually more popular than I expected but I still love it the same. It fits my son perfectly.

    • We are naming our son Jeremiah but searching for a middle name and though we never lived in Bryson City, we randomly vacationed there before we had any kids and it’s not become our families home away from home. We go every other year for 4th of July. Bryson is in my list for a middle name for that reason lol.

  12. Im not sure how we came up with the name i think my fiance did and then I just instintly loved it and we kinda just stuck with it throughout the whole pregnancy. When Bryson came out he looked like the name belonged peefectly to him. The only part I had a hard time with was a middle name. Plus you vsry rarely hear the Bryson around here. Those are my reasons for choosing Bryson Jeffrey.

  13. Bryson’s father and I agreed to find a name that our child wouldn’t be ashamed of and not too hard to spell. We also wanted a name where he wouldn’t be prejudged living in a predominantly black community as blacks.

  14. It came up on a baby name app and I knew a Bryce but not Bryson and I liked it with our son Brantley’s name

I just like it a lot! Lol it’s xute at every stage of life
